You must have a user name and password. If you don't already have them, please contact me and I'll set you up.

The instructions on this page are for using the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser to perform the file transfer. If you wish to use a different FTP client, the host name to use with your client software is fredmeseck.serveftp.net.

If you like, you can use Windows Explorer and just drag and drop your files/folders into the server, just as you can with any folder. Just open Windows Explorer, type or paste ftp://fredmeseck.serveftp.net into the address box, and hit Enter.

Otherwise, here we go!

Note that these instructions pertain only to Microsoft Internet Explorer and do not work with other browsers.

Go to the server.	Click here: ftp://fredmeseck.serveftp.net This will open the FTP server in a new browser window, so you can switch back to this page to continue the instructions. If you are using Internet Explorer 7, the top of the server's browser page will have instructions for using Windows Explorer to do the file transfer.
Log in.	You will see a dialog box like the one below. Enter your user name and password in the appropriate boxes. You may check the Save Password box if you wish, but do not check Login Anonymously. My server does not accept anonymous logins. Click the Log On button.
You're in! (Unless...)	Your browser will open and display your home folder. If there are any files or folders already in your home folder, they will be displayed. If not, you'll see an empty browser window.   Did you get the error below? You need to allow Internet Explorer to display folders. Click here for instructions.
Drag in your stuff.	Place your files/folders in the browser window by one of the following methods: a. Drag the files/folders into the window; or b. Copy the files/folders from their current location and paste them into the window.
Let the transfer begin!	The transfer will begin. You will see a progress box like the one below for the duration of the transfer.
Tell me about it!	Email or call to let me know your transfer has completed.
Let's get outta here!	Close your browser to log off the server.

Send a file by mistake?
Simply select the file by clicking on it, then press the Delete key.

Picking up a file from me?
Just reverse Step 4 and drag/copy the files/folders from the browser window and drop/paste them where you wish, e.g., your Desktop or into a file manager like Windows Explorer.
